I tried diffent combinations on needle high and main jet without succes. This is where I'm at now: 125->135 main jet. Needle raised one step. White spacer in.
However today I found out, that I must have done the airscrew adjustment incorrectly during all those experiments. Previously I couldn't get my bike to run a stable idle with riching the bike with the air screw, probably because I had sat the idle screw way to low prior to adjusting the air screw.
Today I turned air screw full in, and out again 1 full turn + 1/4 turn. Then I raised the idle, undtil a stable idle was there.
Tonight I drove with these settings, and I had a damn good ride. Really powerfull bike and minimum og backfire and best of all, farting a deaccelation is nearly gone.
I guess it the nature of the Savage that it needs a relatively high idle. But that OK, you'll just have to get used to it.
Would anyone suggest to experiment with raising the size of the Pivot jet a tiny bit? Have anyone tried this except GP in the below posting?
My stock main jet was #125, which pilot jet would correspond that? ##45? (haven't had the time to take it out and have a look).
